Radio France/RFI Planète Radio Technical Cooperation Fund

« What no longer serves here could be very useful there ». This principle applies perfectly to the Radio France/RFI Planète Radio Technical Cooperation Fund, created in June 2006.

This fund serves to assign computer and radio equipments, considered obsolete in our radio stations, to small radio stations ruled by lower technical standards. Before assigning any equipment, a study is previously carried out to check its technical suitability. The objective is to respond to the radio managers’ needs who are often forced to stop broadcasting during days or even weeks due to a lack of equipments or failures. Ever since this Technical Cooperation Fund was created, equipments have been sent to radios in Tanzania, DRC, Benin, Burkina Faso, The Comoros, Bolivia, Cuba, Venezuela, etc.

Radios that received equipments from the Technical Cooperation Fund :

  • Radio Kigoma Community College – Tanzania
  • Frissons Radio – Benin
  • Radio Tarija – Bolivia
  • Radio Maleze – The Comoros
